Covid-19 Update in Bangladesh: death rate 1.35 percent
37 dead, 2,695 infected, 470 recover in 24 hours

Thirty-seven people have died with coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said today.
The death toll now stands at 746 and death rate at 1.35 percent, Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general (administration) of DGHS, said during a briefing.
Two thousand six hundred and ninety-five people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of infected has reached 55,140.
A total of 12,510 samples were tested in 50 labs across the country in the last 24 hours, Dr Nasima said.
Meanwhile, 470 Covid-19 patients have recovered since yesterday, taking the total number of recoveries to 11,590 and the recovery rate to 21.02 percent, the DGHS official added.
A total of 395 people were put under isolation in the last 24 hours, she added.
Among the deceased, 28 were male and nine female, she said, adding that most of them were from Dhaka division, followed by Chattogram.
Of them, one was between 21-30, three between 31-40, five between 41-50, 12 within 51-60, 12 between 61-70 and four others were 71-80 years old, Dr Nasima also said.
